Santa Claus has struggled through a snowstorm. Only in the village does he discover with a shock the hole through which all the small gifts have tumbled into the snow. How will he explain this to the disappointed children? Unexpectedly, the lonely lumberjack Ruprecht comes to his aid. He has collected all the gifts, and St. Nicholas Day is saved. In the supposedly quirky loner Ruprecht, Santa Claus finally finds the assistant he has been looking for for so long. And the people in the village also adjust their perception of Ruprecht.

Kathrin Siegenthaler's story, for a change, pays tribute to Santa Claus's faithful assistant. Marcus Pfister creates a magical winter atmosphere with delicate colors and gently flowing patterns.
